Soup season has begun in my house!
It’s starting to feel like fall in my house, despite this up and down weather. One minute it’s hot the next minute I need a jacket. I’ll take the random warm days because I do not look forward to winter or the days getting darker faster. It’s a sign that it’s fall when the soup is on in my house. On Saturday morning I got up early and made a chicken chili and a pot of roasted chicken and butternut squash soup. I got this recipe from an issue of Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food magazine two years ago and I can’t wait for fall to make it.
For @kenyc24 chai pumpkin spice thumbprint cookies. Thanks @ldkreimer for turning me on to these!
My husband loves fall for pumpkin spice chai lattes, I actually make a really good one at home with the Tazo Chai concentrate but I don’t like chai. Since I know how much he loves it when my girlfriend told me about Chai Pumpkin Spice Thumbprint cookies I knew my husband would be over the moon if I made a cookie just for him. The recipe makes 2 dozen small cookies and they include the white chocolate pumpkin Hershey kisses – again lots of things I don’t like but flavors my husband LOVES. He told me the cookies were an absolutely wonderful treat, so I’m glad i made them.
I refused to let this pattern get the best of me! Finally making progress. #knitting #yarn #onmyneedles
And since it’s fall I’m now in full knitting mode, YAY! This is going to be the Day Brightener Ascot scarf. I thought the pattern was so cool and intricate that I had to buy it. I was terrified that I wouldn’t be able to complete it but it’s actually coming out pretty well. Of course there are a few mistakes but I learned that it shows it’s handmade to have a little imperfection. So what signs are showing you it’s fall in your house?
